About Me

Hello there! It's so nice to "meet" you. Let's get acquainted!

With a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I have over 10 years of experience working with a broad range of populations, including severely abused and neglected children to survivors of mass shootings and human trafficking. In 2016, I had the honor of presenting at the American Counseling Association and Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association's conference in Montreal, Canada. With a colleague, I presented the lecture, Multicultural Voices of Suffering and Healing. Additionally, I had the privilege of presenting at the virtual 2021 American Counseling Association’s annual conference a session titled, Is My Skin Louder than My Voice: Microaggressions in a Safe Space.

Currently, I am a doctoral student at California Southern University to further my education and skills as an educator, advocate, researcher, and counselor! I naturally provide a warm, non-judgmental, and welcoming therapeutic environment to all my clients. Most recently, I have had the honor of being a recipient of the My Black Colorado’s People’s Choice Award in the health and wellness category.

I primarily work with Black women seeking to break free from the chains of trauma, shed the weight of pain, and embrace a life of confidence and presence. I understand the unique challenges that Black women face, and my mission is to provide a safe and nurturing space to embark on an empowering journey of healing and growth. If you find yourself dealing with past trauma, grief, struggling with self-esteem, trying to be every woman, or seeking personal growth, I am here to support and guide you every step of the way.

I am committed to creating a culturally sensitive and empowering therapeutic relationship. I recognize the strength within you and collaborate with you to co-create a healing path that aligns with your values and aspirations. With a wealth of experience in mental health treatment, I offer a comprehensive and empathetic approach. This integrative method helps to personalize and navigate the path towards healing and to speak to your individual needs. I draw from a rich toolkit of modalities including Trauma-Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Techniques (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Through trauma-focused therapy, you'll unravel the layers of trauma and learn effective coping strategies. Brainspotting, a powerful technique, allows you to access and process trauma on a profound level, promoting healing from within. ACT empowers you to engage with life fully, shedding limiting beliefs and embracing a newfound sense of freedom. EFT facilitates emotional release, and IFS will help you explore the different facets of your inner self, fostering harmony and self-awareness.

The intersection of culture and healing in significant, so I create a space where your experiences are valued and validated; a space where YOU are welcome, just as you are. I invite you to come reclaim your joy, reclaim your identity, reclaim your peace, and step into a life of confidence and authenticity. Welcome to therapy!
